I'm kind of surprised I'm the first one who asked this question. What is the origin of the name Orain? Tau Ceti (talk) 09:38, 21 January 2015 (GMT)

@Kudu: - If I recall correctly (this was awhile ago) we were coming up with different names and Kudu randomly threw out "Orain". Dusti*Let's talk!* 21:40, 22 January 2015 (GMT)
Wikipedia reveals Orain is the name of a town in France. Tau Ceti (talk) 23:02, 22 January 2015 (GMT)
This is a fun topic. Dusti is correct: I'm the one who came up with the name. I remember it quite well — we were stalling in the middle of brainstorming names, so I decided to fire up Google Translate, choose a random foreign language and look at the translation of random English words to see if I could find anything interesting. "Orain" was the only productive result of this experiment — so, yes, I'm guessing it means something in some other language. Not sure what. :) Kudu ~I/O~ 00:06, 27 January 2015 (GMT)
The language is Basque (spoken in the Pyreness btwn France and Spain) and 'orain' means 'now'. Tau Ceti (talk) 22:52, 27 January 2015 (GMT)
