You're correct, we do support freedom of speech; however this is not wikifarms.orain.org or another impartial site, it's meta.orain.org, therefore we feel that it's fair to remove this kind of comment, which I interpreted as more of an advertisement than a recommendation. I suggest you change it to something like "I think Orain should have a footer icon on every wiki, but remove it on request." if that's what you intended.
