Forum:A few clarifications
I'm sorry if this looks like I'm drawing attention to myself, but I wanted to get the community's opinion on if I should be GS or not. I've had this right for 1 1/2 months now and have used it mostly to deal with spam. But right now consensus seems to point towards that I shouldn't have these rights because apparently I am really incompetent and not the sort of person that should be trusted with such userrights. Everyone's concern seems to be: that I'm using this rights for pure advertising and centering around myself and that I shouldn't be GS now, and that I would be better served as a regular contributor. See, the issue seems to be that my GS is not needed as often anymore, because spam levels are dropped down, but I am just worried that what if the spam attacks come back? Also, people have said I'm being rude and seem to be just making insulting remarks to people, even though these are intended as jokes. I will be a good contributor, but I'll need your help. - I personally have not seen much indicating your incompetence in this role, though as someone who has staff powers here [as Arcane]), it naturally is assumed you will be more professional and less personal and informal when dealing with matters pertaining to your official duties, and if there is a consensus you may not have this decorum, I would suggest requesting a probational removal period of your GS rights so that this consensus can be more fairly judged in light of evidence how you conduct yourself as a regular user. If it seems your conduct was misinterpreted, this would be a magnanimous effort on your part to address your critics, and I for one would support full restoration of your rights after this period should you still desire to retain them. However, if the criticism regarding your conduct is validated during this period, then you would still be acting in the best interests of Orain and I would support your potential restoration of GS rights whenever there is a greater need for them than at present.
