This page hosts proposals for new Orain wikis. Here you can: Propose new wikis. If you have an idea for a new wiki, submit it here. Get involved in the process. Encyclopedium (Status: Pending)

• Description: This wiki will be a fork of Lexicanum, which is available under Creative Commons, previously GFDL and attribution advised. This will be the first wiki to be forked, the English 40k wiki. We are forking it for several reasons. The site has been running MediaWiki 1.18.0 since 2011. Even after being attacked through SQL injection by Russian hackers, the owner does not take security seriously. It seems the new server side owner does not either. The owner, who uses a bureaucrat sockpuppet account on the wiki, has been involved with very serious cyberbullying of Autistic people all over Virginia. He has a foaming at the mouth irrational hatred of "Jewish Bolshevism." After the ownership transfer, the new owners frakked the site skin and made it nearly unreadable.

I checked the relicensing conditions, and since it's dual licensed under GDFL/Creative Commons, I would recommend getting a current revision dump if possible and importing that (same rule applied when we forked TVT) via a CC license. If you were to use the GDFL license, you would need a full history dump under GDFL rules. Also, some of the extensions used on that wiki are customized for that wiki or may be outdated, so you'll want to fork anything specific to Orain's repository you want to keep and are willing to keep current. There should be no legal reason for the owner to attempt preventing you from forking to Orain, but make sure you don't import any content that has specific reuse conditions not covered under GDFL/CC rules unless you have prior authorization.
