For [[Wikipedia:HotCat]], I'm not sure if that's considered a "feature", as it is a "Javascript gadget" or something that can be implemented outside of Wikipedia, but it is very handy for categorization. Namespace aliases are conveniences for ease of use in edit summaries, etc.
