Changes to the adoption policy

Our adoption policy has recently come into play, and as such there was controversy surrounding it. Placing that controversy in view, there were concerns over the lack of notice to the founder of the wiki and the subsequent removal of their rights.

I like the idea of adoption. In this case, it prevented another wiki from being created and allows a user to revive the wiki. I think we should continue to allow adoptions, but I do agree that perhaps it's time to change the criteria for our dormancy policy and re-evaluate the adoption process. Thoughts, ideas, suggestions are more than welcome. Dusti*Let's talk!* 02:30, 8 September 2014 (BST)

Em... completely misunderstood

It seems my wiki has been locked, because of inactivity. Should that mean, that all wikis are ought to be active, otherwise they will be deleted? My wiki is not very active and it is not its purpose, but it still contains some useful informations for somebody interested in that topic. Or is it different? And btw, I'm speaking about Midnight Strike wiki :) Thanks, Aslanex (talk) 14:54, 20 July 2015 (BST)

Indeed. We have a dormancy policy. That means that in 1 month you need to have at least 1 edit to keep your wiki unlocked. We cannot have so many wikis if they are all inactive. We need to have some way of seeing if they are active or not. For me to unlock your wiki please make a request here. --Reception123 (talk) 15:20, 20 July 2015 (BST)
Ok. Then delete the wiki, because I'm definitely not going to keep it alive every month. Please consider changing this restriction in future, since this can be very confusing for some users and Orain won't be better than Wikia this way. Still, good luck :) Aslanex (talk) 16:36, 20 July 2015 (BST)
We don't delete it until 6 months but then you will have to unlock it until 6 months pass. I am sorry for the confusion. --Reception123 (talk) 16:51, 20 July 2015 (BST)

(Reset) @Aslanex: We just like to see that wikis are active. You don't have to actually make "contributions" to your wiki, but we'd like to see that people are at least reading it etc. if you were around meta just letting us know you use your wiki, it wouldn't have to be locked, but otherwise we have no way of knowing if users abandoned Orain/their wikis. Several recently requested wikis (this year) were created after being requested and then the users that requested it never even logged into their wikis. So we just like to know you're still around. -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 20:55, 20 July 2015 (BST)

Ok, sorry. I wasn't online for last 3 weeks, but now I am able to maintain the wiki again. I made a Steward request to adopt the wiki, that should be alright? Aslanex (talk) 22:02, 20 July 2015 (BST)
