Hi there everyone! I just wanted to let you know that I have enabled editnotices in the User: and User_talk: namespaces. To edit yours, go to: "User:YOURUSERNAME/Editnotice". Note the capital "E", it is important! If you have questions, feel free to ask me or anyone else around! Happy editing! -- Joe G. (Talk) 00:13, 27 October 2013 (UTC)
- Noob Question: What is an editnoice??? :D -Benjozork (talk) 00:22, 27 October 2013 (UTC)
- Oh, I could have defined that :P. It's something that shows up above the edit box on a page. Like if you want to let a user know about specific formatting or directions for editing that page, you can put it in there and it will tell them when they go to edit the page. See my talk page for an example. Click "edit" and see that it says "Welcome!". That's an editnotice! -- Joe G. (Talk) 00:28, 27 October 2013 (UTC)

- Hey, that's great news. I hope Dusti realizes that his old Editnotice is now working (and is now out of date, LOL). Also, is this only enabled locally on Meta, or globally? I created Editnotices for all my user talk pages globally, but they never seem to have worked previously. Checking now and this one still doesn't work, so I assume you've only got it working locally. Any chance it could be made global? AugurNZ ✐⌕ 09:03, 27 October 2013 (UTC)
- Right now, it is per-wiki and only enabled on meta. It's no code change, but rather a template and then adding it to the MediaWiki edit notice pages. I don't want to go around and alter every wiki (they may not want to have it) without the owner/community permission. If they do request it, though, I would be more than happy to enable it elsewhere, though! -- Joe G. (Talk) 12:26, 27 October 2013 (UTC)
- We could make a really cool little project out of this, with an OrainMessages notification to all wikis in the farm, advising that Editnotices are available on request, collect a list of wikis that want them, and then a global bot could do the work. I just happen to have a global bot that could do it nicely. :p AugurNZ ✐⌕ 18:46, 27 October 2013 (UTC)

- Question: My wiki's default language is Korean. Does it (English word Editnotice) works on wikis language default is other language than English? --레비ReviDCM 03:53, 28 October 2013 (UTC)
