What is this page used for?
  • If your request has to do with global permissions, please visit Steward requests/Global permissions.
  • If your request has to do with a global issue (such as IP blocking, account locking, etc.), please visit Steward requests/Global.
  • If your request has to do with permissions (either the removal of or addition of) locally, you've come to the right place!

Administrator access

Read before requesting 

Please only list requests for sysop here in three cases:

  1. There are no local bureaucrats to fulfil a successful request for administrator;
  2. A wiki is not active enough to have a heavy weighted discussion (Stewards may consider temporary administrator);
  3. You are wishing to prolong your pre-existing temporary administrator access;

The local community must always have been notified before requesting here. Stewards may not override a local community consensus but may decline to promote the user under any circumstances.

Bureaucrat access

Please only list requests for bureaucrat here in one case. That is a local community has closed a bureaucrat request as successful and the local community is not capable of assigning rights (e.g. no other active bureaucrat or the wikis choice).

Stewards may not override a local community consensus but may decline to promote the user under any circumstances.

Removal of access

Read before requesting 

Please only list requests for removal here when;

  1. You are requesting removal of your own rights (stewards may delay on these requests);
  2. There is local community consensus;
  3. Local policy states removal of rights (e.g. inactivity policy)

Make sure that the rights can not be removed locally. If you or the user has multiple rights, state which rights are to be removed.

  • Hi, I asked for the default language to be changed from English to Italian, and it was done. The weird thing is that now I cannot login directly, but must login to orain meta first, and navigate through settings and unified login. The main page (that I created as "Pagina principale") tells me that I do not have sufficient permissions to read it, which is not true, because I am an administrator. I understand and appreciate you have been very busy with unexpected changes in the team. Thanks for your hard work and determination (especially Dusti) in keeping everything going. I wondered whether there was any progress on finding the root cause of this issue. You solved it by changing to wiki from private to public. Now I would like to find a way to restrict page editing at least to autoconfirmed users. I tried checking the checkbox to recursively apply permissions on subpages of the main page, but it cannot be checked, even after "unlock further permissions" is checked.--Simonpa71 (talk) 07:52, 4 February 2015 (GMT)
Hi there! I can't help you with this issue directly, but I would like to pose a question to our sysadmins (@Kudu, @Addshore): Do we still have Special:UserLogin or whatever special page(s) process logins whitelisted globally? I remember this was an issue with private wikis and users could not login directly to the wiki - whitelisting those pages fixed it.
