Permissions on bibbia2000.orain.org

  • Wiki: bibbia2000
  • Status:    In progress
  • Hi, I asked for the default language to be changed from English to Italian, and it was done. The weird thing is that now I cannot login directly, but must login to orain meta first, and navigate through settings and unified login. The main page (that I created as "Pagina principale") tells me that I do not have sufficient permissions to read it, which is not true, because I am an administrator. I cannot find any settings or permissions to change locally to solve this. Can you please help? --Simonpa71 (talk) 09:56, 27 January 2015 (GMT)
I understand and appreciate you have been very busy with unexpected changes in the team. Thanks for your hard work and determination (especially Dusti) in keeping everything going. I wondered whether there was any progress on finding the root cause of this issue. You solved it by changing to wiki from private to public. Now I would like to find a way to restrict page editing at least to autoconfirmed users. I tried checking the checkbox to recursively apply permissions on subpages of the main page, but it cannot be checked, even after "unlock further permissions" is checked.--Simonpa71 (talk) 07:52, 4 February 2015 (GMT)
Hi there! I can't help you with this issue directly, but I would like to pose a question to our sysadmins (@Kudu, @Addshore): Do we still have Special:UserLogin or whatever special page(s) process logins whitelisted globally? I remember this was an issue with private wikis and users could not login directly to the wiki - whitelisting those pages fixed it. If someone could check this and confirm it, that would be fantastic! -- Joe G. (Talk) 01:44, 5 February 2015 (GMT)
Interesting and defiantly something we need to look at! ·addshore· talk to me! 23:12, 3 April 2015 (BST)

Username change request

Hi, I'd like to be renamed to "L235" in line with my rename on WMF SUL wikis. (See [1].) Thanks. Thanks, Lixxx235Got a complaint? 14:34, 21 May 2015 (BST)

Possible sock of User:Windowseditor90 / random crat on testwiki

See Special:CentralAuth/SATAN 666 DESTROYER. The account only exists on testwiki, and was given bureaucrat by User:Example 2. Most likely a sock of User:Windowseditor90 but the bureaucrat flag should be removed either way. There was no request for (any) permissions, and the account was randomly given bureaucrat. There is (growing) discussion/possible consensus that testwiki bureaucrats should have the unblockself right. If this is implemented this user should definitely have bcrat removed, but it should be removed either way.

Thanks, NDKilla (talk) 11:58, 27 May 2015 (BST)

Being able to remove Bureuacrat on TestWiki

As things like the Example2 and WindowsEditor thing can happen I think we would need someone on the TestWiki that can remove bureaucrat permissions. Could this be possible? --Reception123 (talk) 17:53, 27 May 2015 (BST)

Don't support this. Crat is easy to get and this doesn't happen enough. If someone could remove all other bureaucrats it would be even worse. Just join irc and !steward for these things. NDKilla (talk) 11:49, 28 May 2015 (BST)
I did join IRC, and nothing was done. Im not saying let anyone be able to just someone very trusted. User:Reception123 (signature thing is missing)
For some reason I thought that you wanted bureaucrats to be able to remove the bureaucrat bit. That is a bad idea. However having a new/different usergroup able to remove bureaucrats would be a lovely idea! Since bureaucrat is so easy to get. Current community should decide who would get the permission. No edit icons any more

When we edit an article, we used to have icons for adding images for example. These icons were in the top left side of the editing window since the DDos attacks fix. We did not change in Mediawiki (common.js or common.css, etc...) in the past 4 months. (right.orain.org). I also can not see the images here (meta.orain.org), however, I do not know, if they existed here before the DDos attacks. Fiala1 (talk) 10:33, 30 May 2015 (BST)

Is this still an issue? ·addshore· talk to me! 09:35, 4 July 2015 (BST)

Unblock request

Hello, I'm User:Windowseditor90. My account was globally locked due to excessive vandalism on the Test Wiki. I would like to have another chance. Please unlock my account and I'll never vandalize again. Best regards, Windowseditor90 as 79.31.19.222 13:50, 31 May 2015 (BST)

I will remove the global lock on the account as global locks should generally only be used for cross-wiki vandalism. Your vandalism was localised to one wiki. You will have to take it up to the local community there in regards to being unblocked. Dusti*Let's talk!* 14:49, 31 May 2015 (BST)
Thanks. User:Windowseditor90 17:31, 31 May 2015 (BST)
If you wish to be unblocked on the test wiki, please use the unblock template on your user talk page. I've changed the block settings for your account and known IP addresses. I am for you being unblocked but am strongly against you getting any elevated rights for an indefinite period of time. -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 17:55, 31 May 2015 (BST)
I have requested to be unblocked on my talk page. User:Windowseditor90 18:07, 31 May 2015 (BST)

(reset indent) You have been unblocked on the test wiki. Please read the unblock note on your talk page there. -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 18:25, 31 May 2015 (BST)

Steamworkshopwiki request

Steam Workshop wiki has 2 edits in the last 30 days, one of them was me. The only other edit was an IP. I believe the wiki is currently ineligible for 'dormant' status or a takeover, but I don't really want to do that. I would like to temporarily request local rights to create some pages and watch for vandalism. I wouldn't really need bureaucrat but I'd like to be sysop there so I can block IP vandals and fix up pages. I'm not really a current contributor there, but based on the dormant wiki page (which I know this doesn't qualify as) it says if users are active on another Orain wiki it's okay. The only sysop (And only bcrat) has not edited since February 5th, I would just temporarily like to cover the wiki. -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 13:25, 1 June 2015 (BST)

Assigning myself local rights and going to work on the wiki. Notifying the only bureaucrat of my intention to take over the wiki if he doesn't start being active again (still no contributions since February 5th). -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 13:39, 29 June 2015 (BST)

RFP: bypass catchpa

I would like to be able to bypass Catchpas on firstrobotix.orain.org as i will be adding a lot of links to usfirst.org officail team pages as a well a team sites.

Thanks! Blackhat999 (talk) 20:34, 1 June 2015 (BST)

Assuming global staff doesn't mind, the skipcaptcha right can be given to a group specified on your wiki.

TestWiki:Checkuser

As you may know Windowseditor90 has vandalised TestWiki a few days ago. Recently, these 2 Ip addresses : 66.85.185.94 and 108.170.8.171 have had mostly the same edits (vandalism), as we did not accept to give Windowseditor90 administrator again we think that this may have caused him to vandalise. I request a checkuser on these Ip's. --Reception123 (talk) 19:49, 2 June 2015 (BST)

And just a minute ago, this Ip address 170.75.163.199 . --Reception123 (talk) 19:52, 2 June 2015 (BST)
Another IP address: 104.131.96.242 Cyborg (talk) 22:51, 3 June 2015 (BST)
Not every IP that vandalizes orain is going to be User:Windowseditor90. Personally I'd just say block without CU'ing. -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 11:15, 4 June 2015 (BST)
I feel it is worth pointing out that the IP's were all blocked in a small amount of time and they were all using the same vulgarities on the same user talk pages. Possibly worth investigating for bypassing blocks if there was a way to tell if it was proxies or not, but the IPs are blocked regardless. -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 15:22, 4 June 2015 (BST)
Also for using the vulgarities towards staff (especially in unblock requests) I've extended the IP's blocks to more than the few days it was. If any local or global staff think that the IP blocks are too long (I know IP's can change) let me know. -- Cheers, NDKilla ( TalkContribs ) 15:23, 4 June 2015 (BST)

Requests about permissions and my name

I'd like stewards to do three works about permissions and my name. may the works be done?

Firstly, I'd like stewards to disable anynomous users to edit any pages because of troll measures.
Secondly, I'd like stewards to enable sysops to import from XML dump file because my wiki is going to be treated as immigration destination of other wiki.
And finally, I'd like stewards to rename me to T-カルサヴァ. if that is unacceptable request, I'd like to be renamed to T-Kalsava instead T-カルサヴァ.
